Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy has kept faith with the team that hammered Limerick for Sunday’s All-Ireland hurling final against Kilkenny.
Tipp trounced their neighbours by 24 points in the All-Ireland semi-final and it comes as no surprise that Sheedy has opted for a no-change policy. Stand-in captain Conor O’Mahony was the only doubt with a ‘dead leg’, but he has been passed fit to take his place at centre back.
Goalkeeper Brendan Cummins, full forward Eoin Kelly and right corner back Lar Corbett are the only survivors from the last Tipp team to play in an All-Ireland final eight years ago. For the rest of the team, it will be a new experience, although several of them won All-Ireland minor titles under Sheedy earlier this decade.
Four-in-a-row chasing Kilkenny will name their team after their final training session at Nowlan Park tonight.
Tipperary (SH v Kilkenny): B Cummins; P Stapleton, P Maher, P Curran; D Fanning, C O’Mahony (captain), B Maher; J Woodlock, S McGrath; P Kerwick, S Callinan, J O’Brien; N McGrath, E Kelly, L Corbett.
